Product description
You can only train a recall you can practise, and you can only practise it safely on a line. The Splash is a 15 ft BioThane long line: enough room for your dog to sniff, wander and run, and a way to guide them back when they ignore you. It is waterproof, it wipes clean with a damp cloth, and it stays soft and flexible in the cold.

What the maker says about it
LupinePet’s own Splash graphic sums up the range: all-weather waterproof PVC-coated polyester webbing, made in the USA by BioThane USA, washable with warm water and soap.

Why a long line, and why BioThane
A long line, sometimes called a check cord or tracking line, is a much longer leash used for training. A normal six-foot leash keeps your dog beside you, which is the opposite of what recall training needs. A long line lets your dog range while you stay connected, so you can reward a good return and calmly reel in a bad one. It is the usual step between a dog who is always on a short lead and a dog you can trust off it.
The material matters because long lines live outdoors. BioThane is a woven polyester core coated in PVC, so water sits on the surface rather than soaking in. After a wet or muddy session you wipe it down rather than hanging it up to dry.

Who uses it
Anyone whose dog does not come back yet. If you call and your dog carries on sniffing, the line is how you practise without losing them. Let them go, call them, and reward them when they arrive.

Puppy owners. A puppy that learns to check in early is far easier to live with at six months. A light long line trailing behind a puppy in a park lets them explore while you keep the final say.

Rescue and rehomed dogs. When you do not yet know how a new dog will react off the lead, a long line gives them room without giving up control while you build trust.

Campers, beach-goers and anyone with a wet dog. A long line gives your dog a patch of ground to settle on at camp, and it copes with sand, salt and lake water because it is a coated, waterproof material rather than fabric.

Six colors
True Blue, Brick Red, Jet Black, Neon Green, Neon Pink and Neon Orange. The neon colors are easy to spot in long grass, which is useful when there are 15 ft of line on the ground.

Using a long line safely
- Clip it to a well-fitted harness rather than a collar. A dog at the end of 15 ft can be moving fast.
- Never wrap the line around your hand, wrist or body, and keep hold of it near water.
- Use it in open space, away from trees, posts and other dogs, and watch where the slack is lying.
- Feed the line out gradually rather than dropping all of it at once.
- Gather the line in rather than yanking it, and reward your dog when they arrive.
- Avoid contact with chemicals such as DEET, which can make the coating tacky.
If your dog chews it
LupinePet backs its gear with a GUARANTEED (Even if Chewed) policy. In LupinePet’s words, it is a one-time replacement of a LupinePet product from your original purchase that has been accidentally damaged during normal pet activities, including chewing accidents. It does not cover lost or outgrown items or ordinary wear, it is not unlimited replacements, and requests are made directly to LupinePet, who ask you to cover the postage. Read their guarantee terms before you rely on it.
Care
Wipe the webbing with a damp cloth or a disinfecting wipe. For heavier dirt, hand wash in warm water with mild dish soap using a brush or cloth, then wipe or air dry.
